OK, you've got that fancy new lacrosse
stick straight off the store shelf. Since it was
probably strung by someone who has never seen the game
played before, you may want to re-string yours to make it
shoot or pass better. If you want to give it a shot, here're some resources you can use to learn how to
string your lacrosse stick properly. Lacrosse stringing kits
can be purchased at Play-it-again Sports in the Britton
Plaza on South Dale Mabry (813-837-8771).
Generally speaking...
-
A shallow pocket is
used by feeder attackmen and people around the crease who
need get off quick-stick shots.
-
Deeper pockets are
used by middies and defensemen who need to protect the ball
while on the move.
You can find a ton of other stick stringing resources on
Google. Try clicking this link "stringing
a mesh lacrosse stick". |

When you throw a
pass or take a shot, if the ball isn't going where you want it to,
then maybe you should take a look at the pocket in your stick. Check out the
"Stick Stringing" section in the Menu on the left.
The videos link is excellent and the guy explains things so it's easy to
understand. |

You can find kits like this one below to help you do
